After entering winter, the temperature drops rapidly and the valve often freezes. If left untreated at this time, the pipeline is prone to failure. If it is in some high-risk working conditions, accidents may also occur. Therefore, the antifreeze treatment of valves is very important.

Before the temperature drops, a comprehensive insulation work should be carried out on the valve device to prepare for the winter.

Prepare the necessary tools: insulation cotton, iron wire, pliers, art knives, and carry an effective gas alarm in the gas area.

Cut appropriate insulation cotton using an art knife according to the size of the valve. Then use pliers to cut the wire that needs to be tied. When wrapping the insulation cotton, tear it open a bit to bypass the valve handle and better wrap the valve body. After wrapping the insulation cotton, fix it with iron wire.

If freezing is found during use and the valve cannot function properly, do not use a wrench or other heavy object to strike the valve. The correct approach is to close the valve and thaw it with steam or hot water before opening it.

If the valve is not used for a long time, the medium inside the pipeline should be completely removed to prevent freezing of the pipeline and valve. Ensuring safe production is an obligation and responsibility that every enterprise should fulfill. The issue of valve antifreeze can be significant or minor, and we must not cause an irreversible situation due to momentary negligence.
